Cycle of Setbacks

Routinely in the fitness industry, people are subjected to misleading information. The misinformation is not limited to any one portion of the fitness industry, but permeate throughout all of its components. The latest fad diets, quick wins, and special techniques designed to “loose fat now” or drop inches fast over a short period of time are simply gimmicks that perpetuate the belief that living a health lifestyle is something that you can buy from an infomercial.

A healthy lifestyle is a choice. Once, the choice is made, IO Fitness’ task is to identify what we call your Cycle of Setbacks and begin our process. All the things that we do can be describe in a series of steps, and a list of steps constitute a process. This includes the processes we all go through in our desire to reach fitness goals or change to a healthy lifestyle.

We have all experienced our own version of “Cycle of Setbacks.” We all have experienced that significant emotional event that drives us to begin working out or change our unhealthy behavior. We join a gym. We start running. We watch what we eat. But inevitably we skip a workout or cheat on a meal. One “bad day” becomes three “bad days” and we suddenly find those new running shoes sitting in the bottom of the closet or cannot quite remember the directions to that gym! And now we are seemingly back to where we started. The “Cycle of Setbacks” is now complete.

So where do we begin? We begin by recognizing that everyone experiences this. Everyone’s process is not the same, so our very first step is go through your process to understand what steps you have taken.
